FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You might have an important question to ask, but I'm too slow to reply. Here are some questions people ask me sometimes.
How do I join a server? To join a local server, click the "Sign in to a local server instead" box. There will be an IP box in the future if you want to join another one.
Why is your name iProgramInCpp? I program in C++ too! And C++ was the first language I learned as well.
How do I host and join server on a VPS? You need to enable UDP port 25567 (which the server uses) in the Windows Firewall (not applicable if you use Linux) and the VPS control panel. You can also host the server on Linux, just use Mono. Please note that some distros will not work (for example Amazon Linux, which Amazon uses for their hosting services). The game also features an IP input box which you can use to join any server by IP.
How do I join the official multiplayer server? Untick the "Sign in to a local server instead" and "Use IP address to log on" boxes.
How do I create an account on a multiplayer server? If on PC, you can go to the pause menu and click "Get a Growtogether Account", but if on mobile, you need to use the command /account (press the chat button and type "/account" in the dialog box)
I placed a lock on my items, what do I do? Sadly I cannot help with that. Accept your loss and move on. Sorry!
I locked a block on top of my items and locked it, what do I do? You can use a World Lock to lock the world and then take the items from there. But be careful, you can't take anything else once you've locked the world so take them out first. Other than that, the world will be useless, so delete it.
I want to change my playername, what do I do? Sadly I cannot help with that. You can of course delete playerdata.gai and start over, but that resets EVERYTHING including backpack slots and levels.
Can I play with my friends? Yes. Despite the title, Growalone, you are able to play with friends. Just fire up a local server and play!

When is the official GrowTogether server coming back online? Sadly we don't know that, but it should be coming when 1.4.0 comes out, which will hopefully be in a month or so.
My game heavily lags, please help! You might be running a lower end PC. You can increase performance by turning off 3D mountains, fancy details (2D backgrounds and shadows). Make sure that the 3D Blocks effect is disabled, that will be removed soon.
